Free Marketing Tools for Small Business

There are so many great marketing tools for small business that most people don’t know about. I don’t know where I would be without these tools. I wanted to share a roundup of my favorite tools to help you and your small business to get noticed more online. If you’re doing great work and it’s not getting out there for others to see, we need to fix that!

Many of these resources will be familiar to those in the marketing world, but for the everyday small business owner they may not be so obvious. And that’s what I’m here for! To educate entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, mompreneurs (whatever you want to call them) to empower themselves with marketing knowledge and skills.

Canva

I’ve been using Canva since it launched in 2013. This graphic design tool is so user-friendly and it’s free for the basic account. While I personally feel like the really important graphics should be left to the professionals, Canva is great for designing social media post graphics, newsletter graphics, flyers, and so much more. You can create your portfolio on Canva and you can share the final product link with anyone; this was really helpful when I was job searching so I didn’t have to pay to host my portfolio on a website. Canva can also help you with creating videos, slideshow presentations, and AI features to help you write content.

MailerLite

MailerLite is an excellent choice for email marketing due to its affordable pricing and lots of options in the free version, making it ideal for small businesses and entrepreneurs. It stands out with its intuitive design and drag-and-drop editor, simplifying the creation of visually appealing emails without needing extensive technical skills. Additionally, MailerLite offers robust features such as automation, segmentation, and detailed analytics, allowing users to tailor their campaigns effectively and track their success. Its commitment to delivering high deliverability rates and excellent customer support further enhances its appeal. These features, combined with its cost-effectiveness, make MailerLite a compelling option for those looking to engage their audience through efficient and creative email marketing campaigns.

ChatGPT

I would be remiss if I didn’t include ChatGPT on this list. ChatGPT is a natural language processing tool driven by AI technology. I use it regularly to help me come up with ideas for content, quickly rewrite sentences I’m having trouble with, rewrite content in a different voice, and find quick answers to my questions. I do not recommend copying and pasting exactly what ChatGPT has written for you.

Always edit the work that ChatGPT puts out, and make sure you fact check it too. AI programs like ChatGPT are notorious for putting out false information, as it pulls its data from web scraping the Internet prior to September 2021.

The free version is called ChatGPT-3. For $20, you can upgrade to the ChatGPT-4 version which allows you to connect helpful plugins. ChatGPT-4 marks a significant improvement over ChatGPT-3 with its enhanced understanding of context, allowing for more coherent and relevant conversations. It has a broader knowledge base, improved handling of language nuances, and a reduction in biases and errors. These advancements make ChatGPT-4 more versatile and effective for a variety of applications, from conversational AI to content creation, offering a more sophisticated and reliable AI language model experience.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a powerful web analytics service that allows website owners, marketers, and businesses to track and analyze their websites' performance and user interactions. It offers insights into how your users engage with your website, such as what pages are most popular, what keywords your business is ranking for on Google, and demographics about your visitors.
